The European Commission states that Regulation (EU) 2025/40, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, applies generally from 12 August 2026. Its packaging waste overview links to the legislation and current implementation guidance. Specific obligations and later application dates need to be checked for the relevant provision and business role.
Define the packaging and your role
Give your compliance team the complete assembly and supply-chain information, including who manufactures, imports and places it on the market. A supplier location or a product label alone may not answer every role question. Use the current official guidance for that assessment.
Request data for the technical review
Send Oulete the selected SKU list and the required data format. Ask for component materials and weights, the proposed resin specifications, any recycled-content evidence and the relevant supplier declarations. Identify labels, coatings and dispensing parts as well as the main body.
Availability and scope of documents must be confirmed for the actual components. Do not assume every catalog item already has a complete PPWR documentation file.
Review changes and claims
Record the package revision used in the assessment. A change to material, decoration or a sourced component may require the file to be updated. Recyclability or recycled-content wording should reflect the evidence and applicable rules for that package.
Send a documentation request or review material declarations.
