A PCR project needs an exact part and material specification. A recycled-content percentage should identify the component it applies to and the basis used to calculate it.

Ask for the material record

Specify the requested resin, recycled-content target and any customer documentation requirements. Ask which declarations or traceability records are available for the supplied material and how lots will be identified in the order record.

Define acceptable appearance

Approve the actual sample and agree the appearance criteria that matter for your pack. If multiple lots or components are involved, ask how the sampling and acceptance plan addresses them. Do not assume one sample establishes every future lot’s appearance or performance.

Keep claims within the evidence

Test the complete package with the intended formula and use conditions. Keep recycled-content evidence separate from recyclability claims; both need their own scope and support. Confirm availability and documentation for the exact part before publishing a product claim.

Review PCR versus virgin material or send a material brief.

Put the specification to work

Build a material evaluation brief. The tool shows its inputs and limits before you use the result in a project brief.
