For an HDPE packaging brief, start with how the user will dispense the product and how your filler will handle the bottle. Send the target volume, desired body feel, closure style and filling conditions so the proposed assembly can be reviewed.
Define the body and closure
Ask for the proposed bottle drawing, resin grade and manufacturing route. Identify whether the design is used with a pump, flip-top, screw cap or another closure. Include the dip tube, liner and other contact parts in the specification.
If a squeezable body is important, describe the desired action and approve a physical filled sample. A material name does not define the feel of a finished bottle.
Make decoration part of sampling
Provide the label or print layout and the intended surface appearance. Review placement and handling with the actual container. Ask the supplier to identify any surface preparation used for the selected decoration route.
Check the filled product
Agree the storage, dispensing, leakage and transport checks with your filling partner. Record the bottle and closure versions used in the tests. A change to the resin, color, bottle geometry or closure should trigger a review of the existing approval.
