Confirm the usable label area on the selected bottle or jar before finishing the artwork. A container’s overall dimensions do not identify the flat or suitably shaped area available for a label.

Ask for the application drawing

Provide the label dimensions and intended position with the container model. Mark the front orientation, clearance from the shoulder and base, and the space needed for a seam or batch code. Ask for a sample or drawing that lets your label supplier check the fit.

For a wraparound design, approve the join and the reading order on the actual container. For separate front and back labels, agree their orientation relative to each other and to the assembled closure.

Define who supplies and applies the label

The quotation should say whether labels are supplied by the buyer, another supplier or as part of the packaging project. It should also identify who applies them, what equipment or hand-application process is used, and what incoming checks are needed. Do not assume label application is included in a container price.

Check the labeled sample

Review placement, legibility and appearance on the intended container surface. Include the conditions relevant to storage, shipping and handling in the approval plan. If the surface treatment changes, review the label combination again.

The buyer is responsible for approving the label’s product and regulatory information. Oulete supplies packaging containers and does not determine finished-cosmetic labeling compliance.

Discuss the label area or compare direct screen printing.
