Freight planning starts with the approved packing specification, not just the number of empty containers ordered. Ask for the quantity per carton, outer dimensions, gross weight and how the parts are protected inside.

Check the packing unit

Confirm whether bodies and closures ship assembled or separately. Specify any separation, bagging, orientation or labeling requirements. Make sure carton labels can identify the model, quantity and batch after the shipment reaches your warehouse.

Agree the loading basis

Tell the supplier and forwarder whether the shipment will be palletized or floor-loaded. Use confirmed carton and pallet measurements for the load plan. Allow for handling constraints and the requirements of the receiving warehouse rather than relying on a theoretical volume calculation alone.

Before dispatch

Reconcile the packing list with the order. Request the agreed packing photographs and inspection documents, and confirm responsibility for the freight booking and export documents.

Oulete’s default shipping basis is FOB Ningbo; other terms can be quoted. See how to order for the order and receipt checks.

Put the specification to work

Calculate packed carton volume. The tool shows its inputs and limits before you use the result in a project brief.
